Attention all music lovers...If you haven't heard about the Arizona Fall Frenzy Music Festival coming to town, then listen up! One weekend devoted to music, September 18th-20th, at Tempe Town Lake. Friday night the festivities are being brought to you by Mix 96.9 and Saturday and Sunday by FM 103.9 Phoenix. This will be one weekend that you don't want to miss. This might very well be the event of the year. Listen to some of today's hottest recording artists.

I just wish this hot summer weather would go away! I think we've all had enough of the summer. I want to be able to bike ride, hike, and run outside without having to wake up at the crack of dawn-oh the winter months are heavenly here! I've been playing tennis at 7 a.m. and lets just say that I'm no morning person.

Safeway grocery stores are having a fantastic 72 hour sale this weekend. They have some wonderful specials on beer, grapes, turkey, and a few other hot items! Be sure to check it! Also, Albertsons is selling 24 packs of Budweiser and Bud Light for $14.88 through August 25th!
Got a flyer for the restaurant Claim Jumper and they have a wonderful splash of summer happy hour. They have items starting at $1.50 Monday-Friday 3:30-7 PM. They also have a reverse happy hour from 9:30 - close. These specials are only available in their Saloon area. Items include White Sangria for $4.95, giant pretzels for $1.50, calamari for $6.75, California Quesadilla for $3.95, and many more.

Stay cool this weekend...

Native American Arts, Crafts, & Jewelry Show starts today through December 18th. This event is held on the 3rd weekend of every month. Fridays from 12-6 pm, Saturday 9-6 pm, and Sunday 10 - 5 pm. This is held at the Radisson Fort McDowell Resort. Call 800-715-0328 for more information.
Visit the "Every Picture Tells a Story," at the Heard Museum from 9:30-5 pm daily. The admission is $10 for adults, $9 for seniors, $5 for students, and $3 for children 6-12. Children under the age of 6 are free! Call 602-252-8848.
Check out the Pueblo Grande Museum and Archaeological Park. It is open daily through December 31st. The price is $5 for adults and children under 5 are free. The exhibit is hands-on and there is something for every age. Be sure to check out their photo-murals and pottery designs!

Saturday night parties...

Two clubs with one cover, Axis-Radius, a fun place to dance and let loose. This club features VIP bottle service, Vegas style GoGo Dancers, fantastic dance music, and comfortable affordable VIP tables.
Suede, the Euro-Asian Restaurant and lounge, is a fun spot to be on Saturday nights. This place is full of people on the weekends and has a more intimate feel with its dim lit lighting.

The temperature in the valley is slowly coming down to a reasonable degree. This morning was beautiful with the wind blowing just enough to keep everyone cool. I think the doggie paws should be safe, at least in the A.M.

Today has already been a wonderful day and its not over! Nearly, just getting started. Actually, this week is going great. I have been up early, before the sun, and it has allowed me to accomplish a lot more tasks. I am avoiding the grogginess of sleeping too much and my productivity for the week is already off my chart. All sorts of work outs, I am plugging away on my book projects, and have even found the time and energy to cook dinner after work. I even found some very informative blogs online and novels at Half-Price Books to keep my brain active and filled with much needed information.

So...yesterday I signed up for the City of Scottsdale Tennis, or let me rephrase this, I tried to sign up, but without fail, there was some sort of computer glitch. Somehow people managed to get in through back way, unfortunately, I was not one of them! Instead, I was running around like a crazy person from computer to computer to computer trying to figure out why I was having such a problem. Eventually and hours later, it worked again and by that time everything was already filled up. Now I must wait, wait, wait to get in on the wait-list. When signing up for the Scottsdale recreation classes, tennis program, volleyball, etc. make sure to sign up right away otherwise it all fills up. Although, this is not the case in the summer.

If you are craving a delicious meal then check out Morton's Steakhouse. They have a steak and seafood dinner special which runs $99 for two people. This includes a salad, a seafood appetizer, single cut filet, side item, and a hot chocolate cake or Key Lime Pie. Talk about a deal!

Hello Monday and goodbye to another weekend. I don't know about you, but time is flying by in my life. "Life will pass you by, whether you're living it or not." I have come to realize that more and more!

The best Monday night specials....

Check out Cadillac Ranch in the Tempe Marketplace. It has an amazing happy hour all night on Mondays! This all-American bar and grill is open for lunch, dinner, and late night. They have multiple plasma TV's, booths for dinner, two bars, an outdoor patio, a dance floor-for the late night fun, and of course a mechanical bull-for all the ever so "experienced" bull riders. The all day happy hour starts at 4 PM.
The weather is starting to cool down and Salty Senorita is always a fun place to be for happy hour and late night fun. They have one of the best outdoor patios and it is located centrally, in the heart of downtown Scottsdale. Delicious margaritas, voted "Best margarita in Phoenix" over 7 times and on Mondays their house margs are 1/2 price from happy hour until close! Also enjoy half price appetizers and other drink specials from 3-7 pm.
Four Peaks Grill offers $2 you-call-it from 3 to 7 pm and 10 to 1 am, daily. Their beer is amazing and they even have live entertainment every Thursday and Friday night from 5 to 6:30 pm. You should also try to catch their Sunday brunch at least once with drink specials from 10 to 2 pm.

Heres something new..."Doga," it is yoga for you and your dog. This event occurs monthly on the 1st Tuesday at 6:30 PM at the W in Scottsdale. Learn interactive exercises that focus on yoga stretches. This event is for all breeds, sizes, and ages.

And another fun filled yoga event would be a "Poolside Yoga Party!" This event is held monthly on the 2nd Sunday of every month from 9 am to 2 pm at the InterContinental Montelucia Resort & Spa. Well, the day is almost over and I am busy cooking dinner and relaxing like everyone else. I am resting up for another day of organizing, running errands, writing, and working. Ugh, I don't even want to think about tomorrow yet! I am trying to avoid the heat as much as possible while hoping that temperatures start to drop sooner than later. I don’t know about you, but I can’t wait for the fall! I love coming home from work and watching my weekly televisions shows while eating dinner with the windows open and the cool breeze coming into my home. I also enjoy going for an early morning jog, or a run after work, and then sitting in the hot tub while having a drink or two. Attending a happy hour on a comfortable patio is never a bad idea either! The movies 17 Again and I Love You Man just came out for rent this week. They were both hysterical and should definitely be on your movie queue. In addition, I saw Funny People this weekend and it was everything and more. It was hilarious and worth seeing if you liked The Hangover, Knocked Up, and any movie in that genre.

I called today to find out about the deal and they don’t know how long it is running for, so call ASAP. It is called the entertainment package and they claim it’s better than all the other companies in the valley.

...Today is back to school for the entire Scottsdale district. This may be a relief for some and a rush for others! I cannot believe how early some of the schools are starting this year, I mean especially when the weather is still triple digits, and the children are outside playing! That’s crazy and not like it use to be, when Labor Day weekend marked the beginning of the school year. Back to work for the teachers as well. I’m sure the novelty of vacation has worn off by now. I assume that it was enough sleeping in for the summer.

It was a very hot and humid morning! I was out playing tennis and I felt like I was in Florida there for a few hours, miserable. I can take the heat, but as soon as the clouds come and the humidity percentage rises, I don't do very well. Not only that, but my right arm is killing me from working out with the trainer and then playing tennis- ah, my right arm just wants a break!

We will see temperatures over 110 for probably the next five days or so and hopefully a little bit of rain, we need it! Lucky for me, I am leaving for California tomorrow and will be enjoying the much cooler weather in San Diego.

My Random comment of the day...So I sucked it up and finally joined a gym, realizing that it is WAY to hot to work out outside and I am way to lazy to get up at 5 AM to make that possible. The pool is already a bit to hot for swimming laps and my hair is starting to feel like sand paper, eek. I joined Pure Fitness. It was pretty nice and I really liked the setup, not confusing as some gyms can be overwhelming. A great list of classes, two free personal training sessions the first month, and a free session every other month, it was pretty cool. Overall, I am happy and my legs hurt from my free consultation/training session that I had... OUCH! Be ready to work out and use muscles that you never thought you had. Another great thing is that there is no contract, so come October when the weather cools, if I don't want to work out there anymore, I can just cancel and sign up again next year. I can be a seasonal gym person and seasonal tanner-Hollywood Tans(all standup), both no contracts! Who wants to be locked in a contract? I am already stuck in my lease contract, ugh, but thats another story ☺

It makes me kind of sad, but thinking that the good years are yet to come-career, marriage, family, etc keeps my spirits high! Every time I hear about an engagement, get a wedding invitation in the mail or see wedding pictures, I really start to freak out! I am nowhere near that stage of my life yet so many people are...makes you really start to see the differences in the human race and our own life timelines and expectations.

*~*A long holiday weekend for some and a regular relaxing break from stress for others. Whatever you chose to do this weekend, even if you had to work, and the choice was made for you…I hope you still had a great weekend. AND a safe one. Mine was good, but I’ve decided that “I am getting old” even though truth be told I am 23 and should be out partying and living life for all that its worth, but it’s hard for me to keep my eyes open past 10 PM.

I had a small get together, which ended up being a good time, except the cleaning duty the morning after and the fact that I was ready for bed when some of my friends were just getting started. I would say that I am the friend who enjoys seeing movies, going to an art gallery, or going out to eat and no longer the friend to hit the nightlife with, unless it’s a special event. OR my birthday!

That doesn’t mean that I don’t know a thing or two about the Scottsdale nightlife as I was once a pretty avid partier, restaurant guru, and shopaholic-okay so I am still a shopaholic, nevertheless I still know a thing or two about our infamous Old Town area.

It may be a cloudy day, but it’s still a warm one! I don’t know about you, but I am already sick of the heat. I think for the rest of the day I will stay inside and catch up on stuff around the house. No sun=no excuse for the pool!

Scottsdale MUST eats…

If you’re visting the area make sure to check out the ever so famous In-N-Out Burger. They have a very simple menu, fast and friendly service, and are known for their cleanliness. This is NOT your typical fast food chain. (Located throughout the valley.)
Sapporo in North Scottsdale is the place to be on the weekends and for happy hour. This restaurant is always hopping with above par service, delicious food, and a social scene unlike any other. Their outside patio, located in front of the restaurant, is always packed full of people talking and having a good time. The cuisine is Japanese-the sushi and fried rice are to die for-check it out for yourself!
The Yard House located in Old Town Scottsdale in the Fashion Square Mall is another must eat. They are a brewery and have a variety of yummy beers on tap. I also love their happy hour-3 to 6 PM and 10 to 12 PM, martinis, wings, and delicious salads-they have a pear walnut salad that is amazing!

Its another hot one today in the valley of the sun! Just spent almost four hours playing tennis...I must be crazy! I felt like my shoes were melting into the ground and by the end of the game my limbs were quite numb. I am now happy to be sitting at home enjoying the cool air conditioning, but feel satisfied that I fit in a work out, even if I felt like I was going to pass out at times.

Random rant for the day...
So the new IPhone? Is it all about the name? Does it really live up to its reputation? I have an older model of the Iphone, probably the first model that came out and so today I went into an AT&T store to find out more about the new IPhone 3G S. I ended up going into a store that didn't carry it, but I learned that you cannot actually send pictures or videos quite yet and that the phone was released before this component was ready and capable... seems kind of odd. I guess that feature will be available come August-ish, but will it cost money to upgrade, take time to upgrade, etc...who knows? I ended up going with the Samsung Eternity which cost me half the price and sends videos, pictures, texts both ways, can do live video, has actual TV stations such as MTV, Nickelodeon, MSNBC, ETC, and a whole lot more! A really great deal and I got a good price at a location in North Scottsdale by Northsight and Raintree area. Check it out!

**The 4th of July holiday is right around the corner. Looking for something to do? Me too... lets see what I found...

First off, there is something for everyone from concerts, to firework shows, to water play, to smaller easy-going events!
Not all cities are hosting fireworks shows this year, partially due to the economy, but with a little bit of a drive you should have no problem finding something to do! Fireworks can be found in the following cities; Anthem, Apache Junction, Casa Grande, Chandler, Gilbert, Goodyear, Litchfield Park, Maricopa, Peoria, Phoenix, Surprise, and Tempe.

Looking for a Concert...

Rawhide at Wildhorse Pass in Chandler, Arizona's largest western-theme park, is hosting a large 4th of July event. There will be stunt and magic shows, singing, rock climbing wall, mechanical bull, an opportunity to take old western photos, shop at more than 10 stores, an aerial fireworks display, and you can eat at the Rawhide Steakhouse and Saloon. It costs $15.00 to get in to the park.

Interested in lakeside and a large crowd, TV crews included...

Tempe Fireworks display is very popular, held at Tempe Town Lake near ASU. The gates for the event open at 4 PM with inflatable rides, rock climbing, live entertainment, food, and the Budweiser Beer Garden. It takes place in the city of Phoenix. The fun starts at 6 PM and runs until 10 PM. Low key holiday...

Scottsdale's 4th of July activities are not as large as some of the other cities in the valley. They are hosting a laid back picnic affair without huge crowds. It is held at the Scottsdale stadium from 5 to 7 PM. At this BBQ letters will be written to our servicemen and women and care packages will be sent. You can take part in games and crafts. People are urged to bring their own picnic dinner as grills are available. There are no fireworks at this event, but maps of nearby events will be provided. Admission is free.

A brand new water park is coming to the Phoenix area bringing new rides and attractions for all to enjoy. Today’s rant…So what is it about moving that gives us this happy-medium feeling? I am currently moving in another roommate and reorganizing a two-bedroom/two bath for three people, yeah not exactly a favorable living arrangement, but you do what you have to in times of slow business! Not only was I wrong about how much stuff they owned, but I was reminded of how much stuff I have. I piled box after box, as I put away my winter clothes, making room in my closet for not only my possessions. I find myself saying, “I have no clothes,” yet I had not one extra hanger in my closet, until I boxed my winter belongings. Who owns three hair dryers, 100 plus shoes, and at least 30 pairs of jeans, but claims they have no clothes? I know that I am not the only one!

*~Hope everyone is enjoying themselves this memorial weekend. In most states this marks the day that public pools open, as for us, it just means that the weather is going to get a whole heck of a lot hotter.

It is funny to me, how easy it is to be lazy during the winter months in various cities and states where snow and cold weather occur, but here it is tempting to be lazy during our hot summer months. The warm weather and sun can really wear a person out. It makes me very sleepy at times and I just want to lay down and take a nap mid-day. I am struggling to stay active. I guess I should really just join a gym and get involved in some group fitness classes!

~*~It feels great to have the weekend off, but on the other hand I would almost rather have Monday or Tuesday for leisure. When it comes to Saturday and Sunday, well... people are everywhere! You wake up and want to go to brunch, you have to wait, crave dinner at the new hotspot? On that occasion you also have to wait! Dying to see that new movie? Well then plan to get there early enough, especially if it is opening weekend, because the seats fill up fast!

Trying to find somewhere to eat last night without much of crowd or a long wait was exhausting and like finding a needle in a haystack. My suggestion is make a reservation! As for last night, we spent over an hour with stomachs grumbling and ended up ordering takeout at Pei Wei!

*The world is buzzing over American Idol. My opinion... I believe that Adam will probably win as he seems to have the most followers, but I would love to see Kris win. His voice is soothing and original and I think he is much more talented! Not only can he sing, but he also plays the piano and the guitar. Overall, both contestants are incredible! I just want the underdog to win it all.*

?!The new show Glee... now it started off a bit slow, but I always enjoy talented people who can sing and dance. I think the show could be great, but then it could also be a dud, only time will tell! I think it might have done better if it started in the summer, where it would have less competition, nevertheless we will have to wait and see?!

I love how exciting television can be. We get wrapped up into the lives of fake people and yet look forward to seeing what happens week after week. I think it gives us all something to do ☺ and adds a little structure into our lives.

Old Town Tortilla Factory is a perfect spot for happy hour. The patio is beautiful with drop lights, a water fountain, and the patio is very spacious. The service is very good and the margaritas are yummy. The price is more than Oreganos, at about $15-$30 an entrée, but happy hour offers great specials.

Sushi Brokers is probably one of the best sushi places in Scottsdale. The atmosphere is calm, the music is amazing, and the sushi is delectable. The Sake is tasty and happy hour offers many great specials. They have some mouth-watering one-of-a-kind rolls for all to enjoy. If you’re a sushi fan than this is the spot for you!

If you’re looking to wine and dine then Drinkwater’s City Hall Steak House is for you. The location is in a prime spot in the heart of Downtown Scottsdale and the interior scene is beautiful. The steak and sides are luscious and their wine list is great. They also have good service to make the experience the all better.

Happy Saturday! I hope that you are beating the heat and staying cool either indoor or on some activity that involves water. I know personally, that I am going to grab my raft and lay in the water so that I don't fry and burn myself on a lawn chair, as I usually tend to do! ☺ I never sizzled myself on a lawn chair until I moved out to Phoenix, that sort of stuff just doesn't happen in the midwest!

HAPPY MONDAY!

After a long couple of weeks I am finally going to catch a break! I have a few days off and a couple more visitors in town...yes I deserve the award for tour guide of the year, having guest after guest, but I love it! PLUS, its an excuse to take off work. I try to make lists of activities and schedules of daily evens, yeah I get a little crazy ha, nevertheless everyone always has a fantastic time. Including myself! I try to get creative and I think I get better week after week, thinking of newer and better things to do around the valley.

...Tonight, Monday, we are planning on catching a happy hour somewhere, possibly Zipps Sports Grill, with $5.00 wings and honestly one of the most reasonable happy hours that I have ever been too; $3.50 32oz Domestic Drafts, $3 Zipparitas, $2.50 well drinks, and more from 3-7 PM!
Then we are going to head over to Martini Ranch to see Julien K perform with The Attitude, Bella Lune, and Tatem," at 8 PM. This should be a great show and a good way to wipe away those manic Monday blues! This event is $8 in advance and $10 at the door in Old Town Scottsdale. This is a wonderful place for live music; with two floors, three bars, comfortable patio, and VIP seating! All the surrounding hotels, for the same area or farther, start at least in the mid $150's. I cannot imagine finding a better deal for such an amazing hotel. I love the Indigo and I am very excited to show it off to my family.

Friday I am tempted to check out Drift Bar and Restaurant for happy hour with excellent drink and food specials. The oceanside atmosphere and drinks with pineapple juice are what draw me in!

Before we head out into Scottsdale's famous nightlife, we are going to catch drink specials in the Divine Lounge with $3 domestics and $4 well cocktails. This is a perfect way to start off the evening before we walk over to Axis-Radius for their Paradiso night. Featuring Lil Jon and Eve and a live performance. Last night I went out to Old Town and had a great time. We started the night off at Stingray Sushi which was by far one of the best sushi places I had been to in a long time! The funny thing, is that I don't even really like sushi, but I always agree to go for the sake and Sapporo beer. Plus, I had a friend in town and he was in the mood for sushi. I was really impressed with everything overall and so was my guest in from Ohio. The wait was suppose to be like some 25 minutes, but they got us in, in probably about 15 minutes and this was a Friday night. We asked for first available and landed an amazing spot on the patio. The staff was really fantastic...our waitress was really great, the hostess were lovely, and the manager as well. I felt very taken care of overall and the sushi was very fresh! I did learn that I do not like octopus very much, but the spicy crab roll was delicious and so was the Las Vegas roll (I believe that is the name?)
...P.S. When you first walk beware of the aquarium built into the floor...I felt like I was going to trip or fall into the water! And on my way out after a few sake bombs... I seriously felt like I was going to take a swim, ha.

We then visited Hotel Indigo Scottsdale to catch the end of Afro:Baile Record's Bossa Nova Lounge. We arrived a little after 10 and the place was still full of guests. Everyone looked like they were having a terrific time and all seemed very comfortable and relaxed. We missed the band by a hair, but did enjoy DJ Seduce. http://www.myspace.com/djseduce
The vibe was pleasant and both of my friends really adored the atmosphere and loved the outdoor terrace. There were some really cute sandals for sale and various other items that I did not get a chance to look at.

After our visit to Hotel Indigo we then attempted to move to the W, where on Friday and Saturday nights, you apparently have to be a guest or buy a table to even get inside? It was a tad bit frustrating and I think a little overboard, but oh well I guess our guest would miss out on the "typical" Scottsdale crowd. No big deal!

Lastly, we headed to the waterfront area and stopped at my favorite restaurant, Olive and Ivy. The inside was dead, but the lush and beautiful outside patio which overlooks the canal was packed. We searched for open chairs and couches, but ended up siting in-between two couples, a little awkward, but it was the only spot available! The good thing is our waitress was phenomenal and carried a smile even though she was running around the entire night! I love great service. We got our drinks and dessert quickly and she even made sure we put in orders before last call was over. Overall, the night was fantastic and Downtown, Scottsdale was surely the place to be.

**I felt like I was in Hollywood or Vegas...there were lines everywhere! From Axis-Radius, to Pussycat Lounge to Crown Room, but everyone was all smiles. Parking started to get full around 10ish, but there is valet and bike service everywhere! I love going out in this area because I always discover new hidden secrets. There is a variety of ages and the dress code bears no limit! You can dress however you want and receive little judgement, this was very refreshing! Every time I go out to downtown Scottsdale I have a marvelous evening and meet a lot of new people.

The city of Scottsdale, well actually the majority of Phoenix, defines "skanky" attire much differently than other locations. In Phoenix we can get away with short shorts or a mini-skirt because the weather gets so hot that you cannot possibly wear much of anything, a plus for the single men.

Advice for visitors…If you are traveling to Scottsdale for spring break or for the up and coming holidays, then be sure to pull out the retired daisy dukes and bring them along, because here showing skin is more of a trend than a turn off! I mean this is a city with nightlife full of animals; cougars, jaguars, and trouts are probably the most prominent.

Another thing… if you are traveling to Scottsdale do not expect the mall, movies, or restaurants to be empty during the "work" week because hell, I am not quite sure when and how often people work in this city. I go to get a manicure on say, a Monday at 1 PM, and the place is full...go figure! Inquiring on the subject I get the response "I work from home," a lot.

Is it not the worse when Tuesdays feel like Mondays? That is the type of day that I am having today. Not feeling too hot, family left and I am feeling kind of lonely, and the truth of the matter...I am just not in the mood to do much work on my slowly progressing novel or anything else. What is it about Tuesdays anyway? They are just an odd day of the week, not good for much of anything except work maybe?! Possibly, a happy hour will make me feel better?

Monotonous Monday... yeah, one of those type of Mondays. I had guests visiting over their spring break and it was a week full of chaos, fun, and little relaxation. I thought that I would be thrilled to finally have an evening alone to do nothing, but in reality I am a bit sad. I had a full house and now it is empty... so I think I'll drown my sorrows in chinese food, reality television, and CW's series Gossip Girl.

~NCAA Basketball Championship Game is on tonight at 6 PM, Michigan State verse North Carolina. Great timing for us Phoenix fans, we get to enjoy the end of happy hour and watch the game if we are out and about! *As I sat around this morning trying to figure out the new social network of Twitter, I realized that there are a ton of different applications all used for different purposes. The steps seem simple, but it is still taking me a little while to get a hang of it all. I think the website is a great idea for any business and it seems to be getting a great deal of publicity. In a world full of social media websites, from Twitter to MySpace and everything in-between, life seems to be all about staying connected in the digital age. If you want to succeed in this day and age, then you have to be a part of it all. The struggle is finding followers, maintaining followers, and posting information that people are interested in reading and since I am not famous… it is hard to reach the amount of followers that some users have.

…And now it’s after midnight and I am still playing on this twitter site… it is a pretty great site and actually quite addicting.

Monday nights at Furio in Old Town, Scottsdale hosts manicures and margaritas. For anyone who is stressing over the economy, but still wants to keep their nails looking great then this is the event to attend. Manicures are only $10 and they offer pizza and pasta for around $6 or $7! The place gets busy so arrive right away at 5 PM or after 8 PM. The event runs from 5 to 9 PM. This event is held for both men and women, so men don’t be shy!
Can’t make it on Monday then Salty Senorita hosts the margaritas and manicures every Wednesday in North Scottsdale for $12. This is a great place to relax and drink! The event is less crowded, but a few dollars more expensive. Both guys and girls can enjoy the experience!

A traveler’s nightmare turns into a wonderful trip thanks to the Hotel Indigo staff…

“I just wanted to point out that I am traveling with my husband and four kids and that the day of our arrival we had several issues.”

✈…Traveling with kids can oftentimes take the fun out of a vacation. I suppose that traveling through airports in general is very stressful; dealing with security, people everywhere, and long lines can also make vacations not so great.
In addition, walking to the gate brings a mystery, will the plane take off on time or will the electronic board have the terrifying word, “DELAYED,” on it? Will the gate have changed or can I finally take a seat before boarding the flight?

“Our travels to Arizona included over six hours of delays plus over a four hour flight.”

Next, you finally board the plane, hopefully carrying food and snacks to avoid additional charges and if lucky land a window or an aisle seat. Patiently, you then sit while everyone slowly piles onto the airplane. Hoping that the flight is smooth from then on, you anticipate that the takeoff is not delayed and that there is a gate prepared for your airplane.

“Needless to say, by the time we arrived at the hotel we were all very exhausted and not very happy.”

When finally arriving at the destination and hotel you want nothing, but smooth sailing from then on out.

“The staff at your hotel was very quick with checking us in to our room, sending us a crib for my youngest son, and offering to help in any way possible.”

This is the type of trip that we all hope to have…an enjoyable escape from the “real world” and a time to relax and enjoy family, friends, and the finer moments in life. ♡

~Everyone was in high spirits at the spring training game with the weather today. The feel of spring is in the air. I love the downtown area so much! There is almost too much to do and see in the area. I had guests in town and I could not show them enough today, but time is always limited. We visited the Scottsdale Stadium for a spring training game, had lunch at the Pf Changs near Fashion Square Mall, enjoyed dessert at Olive and Ivy for their scrumptious strawberry-rhubarb donuts, and shopped around the area. I then showed off the Hotel Indigo and the various clubs practically adjacent to the perfectly located hotel.

....Great for visitors, residents, and guests...Looking for a sweet treat? Sugar Bowl is one of the best ice cream places in Old Town, if not in all of Scottsdale. Enjoy a sundae, flavored float, yummy ice cream cone, or even a quick lunch. The restaurant has been open since 1958 and the very same people who own it and run it, are the same people who originally opened the Sugar Bowl! We just got home for a four day stay at Hotel Indigo, not knowing what the hotel would be like we were very pleased. The rooms were clean, beautiful, and comfortable. The service was extraordinary. All the personal were very nice and had a great sense of humor. The hotel atmosphere is not like any of the major hotel chains I have stayed at and it was a nice refreshing change. Hotel Indigo is located in downtown Scottsdale, close to great shops and dining, and is also close to the airport. I really recommend this place if you are looking for something different in a great part of town.

Scottsdale is Scottsdale. Personally, I believe that you either love it or hate it, and on the rare occasion, find it just alright. To me, Scottsdale is made up of two almost completely different parts. You have your South Scottsdale/Downtown area and then you have North Scottsdale a more residential type sector. If your looking for a desert type mountain environment then North Scottsdale is for you, but if you are looking for the infamous nightlife and the center of all activity then the downtown area is where you should be!

Scottsdale is great for the shopper, party person, single guy/gal, art goer, sports person, and hotel lover. It is a beautiful area to walk around in and catch some rays as the guest said below, but it is also a unique place and one where people are very similar. It has never been known for its racial diversity and that is where it earns many of its stereotypes. It is the home of superficiality; blonde hair, VIP royalty treatment, model type bodies, risque environments, but also the home of beautiful peaceful hotels, a fantastic art gallery district, and golfers haven. In every location you take the good and the bad and in reality Scottsdale is not for everyone, but some find comfort in the known and in a place where there is a plethora of events... if it may only be the sun! In any case life is what you make it and I think vacations are too.

I myself, love the cleanliness of the area and the look of crisp blacktop ☺

Staff friendly, if young and relatively untrained. The room was fine, however, we only had access to ONE outlet - in the bathroom. Not ok for multiple cell phone, i pod charging. $10 for a mojito seemed a bit excessive (Thursday afternoon). Scottsdale was a major disappointment. We came for sun, which was great, but the vibe was SOOO white bread boring. Especially after Miami, LA or New York. The only interesting young man was in the Diesel store trying on shirts out on the floor - awesome ink! Enjoy the hotel, but Scottsdale is too dull for my taste!

I am so happy that Friday is here! This week has been one of those long long weeks, you know the ones where every morning is harder to get up then the day before and the sound of the alarm clock is dreadful?! I know that tonight will have to be comprised of movies and takeout or else I may fall asleep at the bar! Every person I talked to today was thrilled and more than ready for the weekend. I think the weather has everything to do with it and most of the time it is extremely hard to sit inside at work on a beautiful sunny day! At least when summer hits I'll dread the outdoors and be happy to be inside, even if I am working. ☺

I love the weekends. Everyone is always in high spirits and extra happy go lucky. Even working on a Friday or going to school can be exciting because everybody is laid back and ready to have some time off.

I myself, dislike more than one cloudy day in a row and have all the sudden been freezing because the temperature hasn't reached the 80's! Sadly, as soon as the summer comes around i'll be itching to feel cold again, but for now I'll enjoy the heavenly weather that March and April brings to the valley!

The best advice for the summer is to enjoy one of the many indoor activities that Scottsdale has to offer, or a vacation/day-vacation at Hotel Indigo, where you can take pleasure in a stimulating swim and an air conditioned room. This summer you can also stay cool with a refreshing cold glass of water in the lobby. The friendly, helpful faces will be glad to assist when your hands are full from beating the heat in the Scottsdale Fashion Square Mall.

~I laid in bed last night, thinking the most random thought as I starred into my closet. I looked at the shoes hanging on my shoe rack and started to wonder what shoe am I? Am I the polka-dot converse gym shoe, the black leather heel, the tan ballet flat, the Nike running shoe, or the beach flip flop? Could I be a combination of all four or could the combination just be my uncertainty about myself? I think our personalities are all comprised of multiple shoes, at least I hope, even though one may be worn more than others. That's what I love about Hotel Indigo, it fits every shoe, from the Converse lover to the high heel and every style in-between. "It was a great place to come home [to] at the end of the day."

Today I was hit with some hard life realities you know outstanding bills, family drama, work scheduling issues... basically the whole nine yards! Anything and everything that could have gone wrong today, on my day off I might add, did! In the back of my mind I should have picked up that extra shift or babysat for the afternoon, but instead I had high expectations for an afternoon off! In hopes of enjoying the beautiful spring weather that we are blessed with in Arizona, I had to sit on the phone with countless people and be put on hold several times!

The good news for me and everyone else is that spring training games are being held all month and guess what? You can now take the Scottsdale trolley to the Scottsdale Stadium from various Old Town Scottsdale spots. Catch some lunch and a cocktail around Fashion Square Mall and jump on the trolley, which runs every ten minutes, to watch the San Francisco Giants take on various teams. Days like today are frustrating and make me want to curl up in a ball and pretend that everything will just go away, but sadly it doesn't, and therefore I go out and enjoy a drink or two with warm, fun, and familiar faces who force me to forget about all my troubles! After a crappy day off or a long day at work and facing the many frustrations that life may bring, the last thing I want is rude and slow service when I'm trying to enjoy a cocktail or dinner with friends. I am partial to Hotel Indigo because of its fast and completely down to earth service, which can be hard to find in Scottsdale!

On Friday night some friends of mine called me up and invited me to join them in Old Town Scottsdale. I decided that I needed a change of pace and felt like it was time to break out the high heels and my "promiscuous" dresses once again. A one time regular at clubs like Axis Radius, Dirty Pretty, and Suede, I found myself with the ranks of many others and in a relationship. I quote on quote, "fell off the face of the earth," and in my boredom found myself back in my old stomping grounds. I would once again go out and face the crazy Scottsdale nightlife.

My friends on the other hand are still true-blooded "Scottsdale people," they enjoy the ear-piercing nightclubs, expensive drinks, ritzy environment, silicone tanned bodies, and the crowds of good-looking men and women. They decided on Axis Radius Nightclub where we had our VIP connection from the friends that we knew who worked there. Personally, I can't face a nightclub when I have to wait in line at the door, pay cover, wait in line again to get a drink, and ultimately in the end have nowhere to sit, but on the toilet unless a bottle is purchased. Of course a seat or otherwise known as a table aka VIP consists on paying triple for a bottle of vodka that one could buy for between $20-$40.00 at the grocery. In general your paying for a personal cocktail waitress, one or two small couches, and a table made for 2-4 people. The table usually runs you at least $100 something dollars and that doesn't include the forty-dollar plus tip your suppose to leave for your waitress... who by the end of the night disappears. There was 10 of us, because at this day and age, who can afford to go with less? We squeezed in to our small designated area and began to drink up our bottle. In the end, once the had alcohol had hit us, we had a pretty great time! I mean who doesn't love to be pushed and shoved on the dance floor with a hundred other sweaty people? When the mood is right and when and if you can just let your hair down the Scottsdale nightclubs are the place to be! Especially, when enjoying a vacation. You will experience a night like none other!

Before joining the ranks of my friends my boyfriend and I started the evening off in Hotel Indigo's Divine Lounge. The Divine Lounge is what I would call "my scene." A beautiful setting, a tranquil pool, friendly FRIENDLY service, and an engaging patio area. The minute we walked up to the hotel, before even going inside, we were greeted by an outgoing valet, then by a cordial front-desk man, and later by sociable and upbeat bartenders. We grabbed cocktails and sat outside relaxed around the bonfire. Truth be told, I didn't even want to leave the hotel as I could faintly already hear the nightclub music from the balcony. The atmosphere with it's comfortable lounge type furniture is the perfect place to catch a bite to eat or a cocktail any day of the week! I love it! Not to mention the less than two-minute walk to hotspots like The Crown Room, Pussycat Lounge, Suede, Axis Radius, and MANY MANY more!
