THREE FREE FASHION SHOWS HIGHLIGHT NOV. 6 SCOTTSDALE WEARABLE ARTWALK -- One-of-a-kind works by internationally acclaimed artists. Three outdoor fashion runways will put a new bounce in the step of Scottsdale ArtWalk next week on Thursday, Nov. 6. That’s when the Wearable ArtWalk helps kick off this year’s Scottsdale Fashion Week with more than 18 models strutting their stuff on Main Street, Marshall Way and Stetson near Southbridge at the Scottsdale Waterfront. The 2nd annual event is free to the public and is presented by the Scottsdale Gallery Association in conjunction with the City of Scottsdale. Each fashion function features models in action from 7 to 7:30 pm. In addition to an exciting evening of unique clothing and jewelry designs coveted by collectors, Wearable ArtWalk will also feature special fashion collections or events in 28 galleries, plus a wide range of art in all media, live music on the streets, and free restaurant samples. Entertainment, sponsored in part by American Art Collector Magazine, begins at 7 p.m. and includes music by pop-rock fave Jeordie, jazz group Pop Fusion, R&B hits from the Soul Catchers, classical sounds by pianist Elijah Bossenbroek and violinist Scott Tran, guitar interpretations by Boneyard’s Carole Pellatt, and the solo singer-songwriter showcase “Soliloquies” with Nick Heward and Raymond Gomez.
ArtWalkers can also sample free tastes from the likes of Café Carumba, Mandala Tearoom, Outback Steakhouse and Icelandic Glacial Waters. A prize drawing features lodging for two in Puerto Vallarta from Shell Vacation Group. Other sponsors supporting Wearable ArtWalk include American Laser Centers, Tessoro at Las Conchas, ShowUp.com, the Downtowner and more. Scottsdale ArtWalk is located in the Scottsdale Arts District, featuring more than 100 galleries west of Scottsdale Road along Main Street and Marshall Way up to Stetson and Sixth Avenue near the Waterfront.
