With the smell of back to school in the air, don’t forget to have a little fun before it all starts again!

Just because the summer is here, it doesn’t mean that Scottsdale has slowed down any of its nightlife. Lots to do this weekend! Be apart of it all, okay maybe not everything, but here is a list to choose from:

  • Free admission today into the Scottsdale Museum of Contemporary Art aka SMOCA from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
  • Downtown Phoenix brings an art walk the first Friday of every month. The Art Museum Café offers wine and gourmet appetizers provided by Arcadia Farms from 6 to 8 PM.
  • Do you want to share the stage with Blink-182 and Fall Out Boy at the Arizona Fall Frenzy concert? Then battle your way to the stage at Mardi Gras Bar and Grill on Fridays from 8:30 PM to 2 AM. This competition ends August 28th and is brought to the valley by Edge 103.9.
  • If you’re an aspiring model then join Afterlife, formerly e4, for Phoenix Fashion Week casting call. They are looking for 30 models to work the runway during Phoenix Fashion Week. This event is tomorrow August 8th from 8 to 10 PM. Work your inner diva!
  • This Sunday Stone Rose Lounge at the Fairmount Scottsdale is having their first pool party at 12 PM. The pool is open to the public until sunset with DJs and cocktails. Should be a very good time!

**If you’re visiting the area and want to learn more about Scottsdale, the new waterfront area, the arts district, and more... then take the free cultural trolley on the second Saturday of every month. This weekend it takes off at 10:30 a.m. at the Old Town Farmer’s Market(also fun to attend) parking lot is on the northwest corner of Brown and Second Street. The tour lasts two hours and will end back at the parking lot. Attendees receive coupons, a free shopping bag, and a gallery guide. RSVP to 480-312-7750.

RESIDENTS...If you’re a valley resident then you should pick up the “T” Trolley card which offers discounts to participating Downtown businesses. The emblem will be displayed in a prominent place on the door or window of contributing businesses. This is a good way to experience all that Scottsdale has to offer, for more information visit http://www.scottsdaleaz.gov/downtown
